oh david

man utd, what's going on? they have been poor consistently through moyes' rein and seem to lack the spark of last season, and the reason why is the lack of a captain. who is their captain - vidic, but where has been half the season? On the bench or injured as moyes works out his first team, moyes only has one problem. he should have worked them out during week 1. this has lead to no solid man to take charge of the team once on the pitch. if you look at liverpool they have gerrard. man city have vincent kompany. chelsea have john terry and arsenal have per Mertersacker. without a solid man to keep things ticking on the pitch, they have no strength. so is a consistent member of the manchester united squad? Rooney? well he has had an excellent season which sadly has been over shadowed by the poor season of the club. though is he the right man for the job? he has taken captaincy a few times this season but hasn't shown the characteristics of a captain. yes he runs back, yes he defends and also scores but he is not a dominant player. you're running at the manchester united team and rooney is a worry for you, of course. but i would prefer to be two footed tackled by rooney over vidic anyday. the point i'm trying to make is for manchester united to turn it around next season then they need to have a stable, consistent player and you're not going to find that in Fellani or mata.

well now you're asking why i keep referring to midfielders needing to be the captain and well yes, there is a reason for that. well the manchester united midfield has been the laughing stock of the season, it changes every 5 minuets and well they have been awful. paying £40million for mata just to play him out of position with rooney taking mata's position. don't take this the wrong way rooney but you're not in my first 11 for united or england. unless we are playing a cf position in which you are the man for the job.

summer transfers? well thats easy, they need a left wing, and left back, a centre back, a right back, a centre defencive midfielder, and a striker. oh yeah, and a manager in which they can trust.

a goal scorer? well every team needs one. liverpool have suarez and sturridge, man city have aguero, chelsea, well they don't. eto has come through this season with some great goals but they tactics of mourinho mean that anyone can score at anytime which has worked well. and arsenal, well they're competing for fourth again because they don't and lose all momentum when the midfield is taken apart due to injury. so what needs doing in the united camp? well for starts, rooney is not a CAM. i can see the public misconception as he seems to work very hard in all aspects of the game. however he does not have the vision of a CAM but he does have the movement of a CF. but will he play there for england? no. he will play CAM because he is the not the best striker england have and not even first team. but you have to play rooney, its the rule of media. you cant play him on the wing because he doesnt have the pace. and lets be honest here i would prefer to have milner on the right wing and sterling in CAM. The problem rooney will have is if manchester united bring in a foreign manager who see's the work rate but doesn't understand the hype in which surrounds him.

next season man utd dont need to buy superstars, that has rarely worked for them. the class of 92 were not bought. they grew with utd which allows for a stable team in which can progress into the future. lets take away the business and the hype away from utd and bring it backs to its best of youth.
